Matt Lang Releases New Single “All Night Longer”

Matt Lang is a Canadian country singer proudly from Maniwaki (QC). Lang has always wanted to bring Nashville to Québec.

Matt Lang learned to play guitar at a young age but later on started playing in bars and opened for a few Quebec artists. He studied music production and was a radio host in his hometown, Maniwaki.

“That’s where I did my first concert and knew this is what I wanted to do,” he said.

Lang grew up listening to old school country artists such as Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash and likes to keep that vintage side to his music.

In 2023, Lang released a cover album Moonlight Sessions with eight tracks.

Moonlight Sessions was initially supposed to be a few live sessions with his band to post on social media before releasing new original music. Every band member was suggesting their favourite songs and they ended up having such a good time that they decided to get in the studio for a week and record the songs and release them in an album.

“I’m so happy with how it turned out and the album is such a great souvenir for our band,” he said.

Lang recently released his new single “All Night Longer;” a song about thinking about someone all day and wanting to spend the whole evening with them and never wanting it to end.

Matt Lang is preparing to head on the road with Aaron Prichett and Cory Marks for the Liquored Up Tour.

“I’ve played with Aaron and Cory before and it’s always a good time, I’m really thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get on the road and meet new people and new country music fans,” he said.

Tickets for the Liquored Up Tour are on sale now and available at https://mattlangmusic.com/#shows.

Matt Lang is set to release a new album in May of 2024. He wishes he could keeping adding songs because him and his team are enjoying the process very much!

The album includes many festive songs but also a special ballad that Lang cannot wait to share with everyone.

It’s another project Danick Dupelle produced for Lang but it was a bit different this time around because they got to record a lot of it home in Quebec with Lang’s band so this one feels extra special.

“This album is long overdue and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as we do,” he said!

Andrew Hyatt Releases New EP and Prepares for Canadian Tour

Andrew Hyatt grew up around country music and has always gravitated towards the songwriting style within the genre. Once he began writing as a solo artist, he noticed influences from his childhood coming through.

Hyatt’s list of musical influences is endless and goes from Loretta Lynn to Jay Z to Underoath.

“I’ve always loved music in so many genres. I love the heavy guitars and screaming as much as I love pedal steel and heartfelt smooth vocals,” he said.

Near the end of 2022, Hyatt released his album Four Good Years, which was recorded remotely.

“I think that record overall is my favourite selection of songs, I couldn’t pick even if I tried,” he said.

Hyatt had to take a hiatus in 2019 due to a vocal condition that required surgery. The road to recovery was long, but he came back better than ever and Four Good Years shows he’s stronger and more determined than ever. Recording the album was a great way to rebuild his confidence in his voice.

“I’m grateful I can make music that is authentically reflective of who I am and that’s always really rewarding,” he said.

Andrew Hyatt recently released his new EP L Is For. Hyatt’s team calls this the “divorce record” because it’s a collection of songs he wrote while processing all of the feelings that come with heartbreak and betrayal.

Andrew Hyatt is heading out on the Country Mixtape Tour with fellow Canadian country artists Tyler Joe Miller and Shawn Austin this spring!

“I’m looking forward to doing what I love with some of my favourite humans and getting to do it across Canada. I know the three of us love being on stage and it’s going to be fun collectively playing our songs,” said Hyatt.

At an Andrew Hyatt show fans can expect a mix of big-energy songs with heavy guitars and heartbreaking songs stripped down.

“I want people to hear music that meets them where they are in life, so I try and connect with as many people as I can during a show,” he said.

Zach McPhee Releases Debut EP “Feels Country To Me”

Zach McPhee grew up in a very musical family and always enjoyed writing stories and being creative, which shifted into music and songwriting at about 15 years old. Shortly after discovering songwriting, he fell in love with country music.

“I started to fall more in love with country music the more I got exposed to it,” he said.

Zach played sports throughout his life and found music a compatible partner for the high pace environment and being able to pursue music full time now has allowed him to feed into his creative side.

He took the songwriting and storytelling aspect country music offers and blended a bit of the singer-songwriter style to it.

Zach McPhee incorporates his singer-songwriter sound in his debut EP Feels Country To Me.

Zach started the writing process for the EP in 2018 when he wrote his single “Denver.” Since then he collected a catalogue of music and released his first single “Bring On” in January 2023. Following the first single release came three additional singles released in six week progressions. After releasing a total of four singles, he still had three songs he wanted to release, and realized all of the singles blended perfectly together to make an EP.

Zach wrote six out of the seven songs on the EP on his own. “Feels Country To Me” was written by Mark Ledlin and Zach had the creative freedom to put his own twist on it.

“Songwriting is where it started for me and I have always enjoyed storytelling and creating songs,” he said.

Since the writing process of the EP spanned over a good few years, Zach had time to sit and play with the songs and make them exactly how he wanted them to be.

“That’s the beauty of giving the EP a three-year span to be able to sit down and feel confident in the songs,” he explained.

Every song on Feels Country To Me was picked for a specific reason. Zach wanted to make sure the EP had variety with more upbeat, singer-songwriter, and roots sounds.

“Denver” is a song that stands out to Zach on the EP because we worked on it acoustically for many years and when it was put in production in 2023, it was a very memorable moment for him to have it all pieced together.

Moving forward in his music career Zach wants to continue creating music, meet new people, and play live shows. He believes country music is currently on such a good path and is grateful to be a part of the country music community.

On February 2, Zach McPhee has a new single and collaboration coming out with Sarah Cole called “Halfway Home.”

Make sure to listen to Feels Country To Me and pre-save “Halfway Home.”

Hailey Benedict Releases Christmas Single “Freeze” to Finish off a Successful Year of Music!

From a young age Hailey Benedict fell in love with music and songwriting. She attended her first country music festival at ten years old and fell in love with every aspect of country music.

In 2016, Hailey and her sister went to a Keith Urban concert and ended up on stage! Keith asked Hailey what she wanted to be when she grew up and she answered with “a singer/songwriter,” which inspired Keith to hand Hailey a guitar.

“Next thing I knew I was playing an original song at Rogers Place in Edmonton in front of 20,000 people,” she said.

Hailey started songwriting at nine years old. She chose to sing a song she wrote in social studies class “Clean Slate” when Keith asked her to perform, which ended up being her very first single. The experience Keith gave Hailey inspired her to know that a career in music really is possible.

“I am forever grateful to Keith for the opportunity and it ignited a fire in me that this is what I want to do with the rest of my life,” said Hailey.

As a songwriter Hailey pulls inspiration from books, movies, and personal experiences.

“I have always been inspired by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran as songwriters who have both said that you have to continuously write and sometimes get through 100 bad songs before you get one good one,” she said.

Hailey Benedict already has many awards under her belt with being awarded 2022 CCMA Interactive Artist of the Year, 2022 Country Music Alberta Horizon Female Artist Of The Year, 2022 CCMA Rising Star nominee, and many more.

“I have been a part of the Alberta Country Music Association since I was 11 and everyone in the association have become family to me and I wouldn’t be where I am without their support, which means the world,” she said.

This past summer Hailey released her single “Damn You July,” which is about feelings of resentment after a breakup. The song can be for any loss of a person in your life and dealing with the feelings and memories afterwards.

Hailey recently released her first Christmas track “Freeze.” Although there are so many great Christmas songs out there she could cover, Hailey wanted to take on the challenge of writing her own.

“The whole song is about spending time with the people you love most around the holidays and for me my favourite part of Christmas every year isn’t the gifts but its the people all around me,” she said.

In the new year Hailey plans to continue writing new music and play live shows. Over the summer Hailey will be busy with many festivals including Big Valley Jamboree, Country Thunder, Rivers ‘n’ Roots Music Festival, and more!

Make sure to listen to her new Christmas song “Freeze” and stay tuned for more updates on Hailey’s music and upcoming shows!

Drake Milligan Reaches Milestone with First #1 Hit Single

Since being a finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent (AGT) in 2022, Drake Milligan has continued to impress fans with his unique traditional country twang and performance quality as he is known to command a stage.

“It is kind of scary but also addictive being on that stage in front of many people especially in the live shows having millions of people watch you,” he said.

AGT was the perfect opportunity for Drake to showcase who he is as a musician and show the world what he has been working on and launch his music to the world.

Drake’s biggest takeaway from the show was being able to put on a performance to that caliber.

After AGT, Drake Milligan released his debut album Dallas/Fort Worth. He wanted the album to show his range as an artist and how every song showed a different side to him as an artist. The album has a mix of everything with sad songs, party songs, western swing, and songs that pay homage to his musical influences.

Drake moved to Nashville in 2017 and started writing songs for the album, which made it about a four year process putting Dallas/Fort Worth together.

“Dance of a Lifetime” is a favourite of his off the album and has become a very special song for him and dedicated fans, who have used the song for their first dance.

Drake Milligan recently reached a huge milestone with his first #1 song on his collaboration with country duo The Reklaws, “Honky Tonkin’ About.”

“It feels amazing, that is my first number one ever and to have it with the Reklaws, who I became fast friends with is great,” he said.

Drake Milligan is on his first headlining Canadian tour making stops in Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Calgary.

“I am looking forward to seeing new people and places and have some fun in Canada,”

Drake Milligan has already achieved so much success in his career with over 60 million streams globally and 6.5 million streams in Canada alone and is currently working on new music, adding new dates for live shows in the new year, and is keeping up the momentum!

Make sure to stream Drake’s debut album and get tickets to his upcoming shows!

Dan Davidson Headlines Nineteen Eighty Something Tour

Dan Davidson started his music career in a rock band, Tupelo Honey, where he opened up for Bon Jovi, Billy Talent, Shinedown, and many others!

After the incredible start into music he had with Tupelo Honey, Dan decided to pursue a solo career and found his way to country music.

In 2016, Dan released his hit single “Found”, which is now Platinum in Canada.

The song “Found” is a fun mix between “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” and “Honey I’m Good” with an upbeat country sound.

“I just wrote it stomping and clapping without a guitar in hand and wrote it in about an hour and a half with Clayton Bellamy from The Roadhammers.”

Dan Davidson recently released his brand-new single “He Met a Girl”, which is about a dad speaking to his new baby daughter. The song is delivered in a way where it is bright, fun, and nostalgic and still has a Dan Davidson style to it.

Dan is heading out on his first headlining tour “The Nineteen Eighty Something Tour,” with Canadian stops including Winnipeg, MB at The Park Theatre on November 29, 2023.

In Winnipeg Dan will be joined by local country artist Kendra Kay who is opening up the show.

“It’s so cool to bring in a local artist from each market and have that connection to local country fans,” he said.

At a Dan Davidson show you can expect a high energy, fun show with lots of surprises!

The whole tour is in support of his new album “Nineteen Eighty Something” which is out now!

Karli June Releases “Feel Like Home” with Ryan Langdon!

Karli June is one of Canada’s leading country music artists with three CMAOntario Nominations in 2023 for “Rising Star”, “Album of the Year” and “Songwriter of the Year!”

Karli grew up on a dairy farm where music was always playing out in the barn, where she fell in love with music.

“I knew I loved music from a really young age and just had that inner knowing that it was what I was supposed to do with my life,” she said.

Rogers Media recently named Karli the “One To Watch” with her most recent single featuring Ryan Langdon, “Feel Like Home” and in heavy rotation across the Rogers Country stations in Canada.

“My hometown means a ton to me – and the song is about finding somebody that feels like coming back to where you’re from,” she said.

When looking for a male artist to collaborate with, Ryan Langdon’s name came up between Karli and her manager. Ryan loved the song when he heard it and his voice was a perfect fit for the collab!

Karli said the the song sounds like it was written exactly for him!

In 2022, Karli released her debut EP Where You Came From, which touches on many things that make her who she is, including her small town roots, ups and downs of life, faith, and of course her fun side.

“I wanted to have all of those elements as part of my first EP and really tell the story of who I am as a person and artist. We recorded it throughout the pandemic with Karen Kosowski,” she said.

Out of Karli’s releases so far, “Feel Like Home” has been her favourite.

“I love the energy of it and seeing what it means to the listeners,” she said.

Nate Haller is Ready to Party with Debut Album “Party In the Back!”

Music is not a new environment for CCMA Breakthrough Artist of the Year nominee, Nate Haller. At the age of 17-years old Nate started playing many different types of music. At the time he was playing guitar for Canadian country artist, Kira Isabella. Nate wasn’t too familiar with guitar at first, but had the opportunity to learn with Kira’s music and ended up playing with her for six or seven years.

As he continued to play for Kira Isabella, he was introduced to The Reklaws and started playing guitar for them. While playing for other artists, Nate started writing his own music. With the pandemic putting live shows on hold, he had time to launch his own music career as a solo artist.

Nate Haller released his debut album Party In the Back in November of 2022. As he was putting the album together he was living in a house with Stu from The Reklaws and their music director who Nate worked on the record a lot with.

“That record is really special to me and I am proud of the whole album,” he said.

The tone of the album is fun and high energy, which is also what Nate wants to bring into his live shows.

“I want people to forget what might be going on in their lives and have fun at a country show,” he said.

On his debut album, Nate released a track with The Reklaws and Brett Kissel called “Somewhere To Drink,” which was such a fun experience for him, especially while filming the music video with everyone.

Nate Haller was a 2023 CCMA Breakthrough Artist of the Year nominee this year with his first nomination.

“To be nominated for anything at the CCMA’s is an honour,” he said.

Nate is currently working on new music and is keeping busy playing shows.

“I’m really excited for people to hear the next chapter of my music,” he said.

Make sure to listen to Party In the Back and follow Nate Haller on Instagram at “imthehaller” to stay up to date on his shows and new music!
