Cory Marks is an artist from North Bay, Ontario who blends both rock and country genres, which has proven to be a crowd favourite.
Marks grew up listening to influences Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Waylon, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley and Bryan Adams. Through his dad and interest in drumming he got into rock like Rush, Grand Funk, Deep Purple and Ozzy.
Marks enjoys the heart and storytelling of country with the energy and intensity of rock ‘n’ roll.
Marks started the new year off with the release of his single “A Different Kind of Year.”
“It’s a country song for country people. I wrote it with Kevin and Kane Churko in the hills of Nevada with an upbeat happy feel in mind,” he said.
The song is about not taking small things for granted and taking advantage of good times with friends, family and your loved ones, while setting goals and sticking to them to this your best year yet!
Marks is set to release his sophomore album later this year.
“I’m very excited about this new album which has songs with heart and soul like Haggard and the stomp and kick of something like Metallica,” he said.
“There’s not gonna be anything out there like it, especially in the country music world,” he said.
Marks is currently on the road with Aaron Prichett and Matt Lang for the Liquored Up Tour!
He is looking forward to playing shows every night, being on the road promoting the new singe “A Different Kind of Year” across Canada, and living the bus life with an amazing crew and Matt Lang and Aaron Pritchett.
“I just want to get it out there and hopefully the world of listeners and music lovers will love it in both country and rock planets. I have yet to have a country radio hit and I know we have a solid batch of hit worthy songs on here that I hope make that dream come true,” he said.
